Qué es el MBR? El MBR es el Master Boot Record), o el "Registro Maestro de Arranque", por ponerlo en términos muy hispanos. Es el registro que utiliza un disco duro para luego entrar al sistema operativo "de tu opción" en una PC. Y cómo te lo tiras? Fácil (no hagas esto en casa): - Instala SuSE 10.0 haciendo un resize de tus particiones - Instala grub y luego reorganiza nuevamente tus particiones - Instala Fedora Core 6 (me gustó cómo trabaja) - Espera que se te dañe el boot loader (grub) y no te reconozca las particiones... Todo esto en un disco "de los nuevos" Serial ATA, que no están disponibles bajo /dev/hda sino bajo /dev/sda. Ni con un mugroso fixmbr puedes recuperarlas, pero sí puedes arrancar manualmente Windows: root (hd0,0) chainloader +1 boot ...Pienso que lo dañó Fedora porque las particiones las creó con otro tipo de sistema de archivos (¿amoeba?)... pd: y acabo de bajar Debian 4, a ver si acabo con el sufrimiento del equipo.
